Evelina Solis Dies after Struck by Sedan on South Vermont Avenue in Gardena
GARDENA, CA (March 15, 2022) – Evelina Rodriguez Solis died in a pedestrian accident in Gardena, Saturday night.
The fatal accident happened around 6:17 p.m. on March 12, at South Vermont Avenue and West 149th Street. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the 79-year-old victim was walking in a marked crosswalk when a Toyota Prius struck her.
As a result, Solis suffered significant injuries. Arriving units rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
It is unknown if the involved driver has stayed after the crash. Further investigation is underway.
