Efren Vazquez Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Mission Inn Avenue near Indian Hill Road

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (December 6, 2021) — Efren Vazquez died in a multi-car accident on Mission Inn Avenue near Indian Hill Road on Thursday.
 
According to Riverside Police, the fatal multi-car crash happened at approximately 2:40 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 19-year-old Compton resident, driving a 2002 Lexus sedan, lost control of the westbound vehicle. Subsequently, the Lexus crossed into the opposing traffic lane and struck a 2015 Nissan Sentra. Due to the impact, the Lexus drove off the road and overturned before colliding with a 2015 Toyota Camry.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel and authorities responded to find the Lexus on fire and a passenger in the vehicle dead at the scene. According to the coroner, 20-year-old Efren Cordova Vazquez suffered fatal wounds, and the driver sustained moderate injuries.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics tended to the driver and passenger of the Toyota who suffered minor injuries. At this time, the ultimate cause of the accident, including if DUI played a role, requires additional investigation.
