Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 10 Freeway in Colton

 
COLTON, CA (December 6, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway in Colton early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:36 a.m. on December 4, just east Mount Vernon Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian wearing a red shirt and blue shorts was walking across the southbound lanes of the freeway when a white sedan struck him.
 
Emergency crews arrived and found the victim lying on the roadway with significant injuries. They attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office withheld the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
It is unclear at this time if the involved driver has stayed after the crash. Further investigation is underway.
