Dwayne Faughn Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 255; Luz Garciasilva, Jacqueline Garciasilva, Austin Vargas Hospitalized

 
EUREKA, CA (January 26, 2022) — 49-year-old Dwayne Faughn of Samoa died in a head-on accident on Highway 255 near Startare Drive on Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal head-on collision happened around 8:54 p.m. For reasons that require additional investigation, Faughn’s 2000 Lexus collided head-on with a northbound 2020 Jeep on Highway 255.
 
Subsequently, an oncoming southbound 2008 Ford crashed into the stationary Lexus and Jeep, causing injuries to its 23-year-old driver, Austin Vargas.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and pronounced Faughn dead at the scene.
 
Moments later, paramedics transported 24-year-old Luz Garciasilva and 22-year-old Jacqueline Garciasilva — a pair of Jeep occupants — and a 6-year-old riding in the Lexus to St. Joseph Hospital.
