Driver Dies in Buttonwillow Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway

 
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (September 9, 2021) — A driver died in a rollover accident on the 5 Freeway near 7th Standard Road Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Dodge Ram pickup rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma in the slow lane. Per reports, the driver of the Toyota was driving at speeds of about 65 miles per hour.
 
As a result of the impact, the Toyota Tacoma veered off the road and overturned, ejecting the driver from the cabin.
 
Shortly after, paramedics and officers responded, pronouncing the driver of the Toyota deceased at the scene.
