Street-Racing Crash on 20th Street West in Lancaster Kills Driver and Injures Passenger

 
LANCASTER, CA (September 6, 2022) – A driver died and his passenger was injured after a street-racing crash on 20th Street West in Lancaster early Monday morning, September 5.
 
The crash happened around 1:27 a.m. at Avenue H. According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, two vehicles were street racing prior to the crash. While heading northbound on 20th Street West when the road turned from pavement to dirt, one of the drivers lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
 
The man driving the car died at the scene. Paramedics took the passenger to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
At this time, authorities withheld the identities of the victims pending family notification.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
