High-Speed Accident on Skyway in Magalia Kills Driver and Sends Passenger to Hospital

 
MAGALIA, CA (April 8, 2021) – A driver was killed Monday afternoon in a high-speed accident on Skyway in Magalia.
 
The accident happened around 3:50 p.m. on April 5 near Pentz Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went over an embankment and crashed into a tree.
 
First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to Enloe Hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
CHP officials said both the driver and the passenger were wearing their seat belts.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Further investigation is underway.
