Deyanira Carrasco Detained, Police Pursuit, Hit-and-Run Crash near Chapman Avenue and Main Street

 
ORANGE, CA (June 5, 2023) — Deyanira Carrasco was arrested following a police chase and a hit-and-run accident near Chapman Avenue and Main Street.
 
According to the Orange Police Department, the incident happened around 4:15 p.m. at a parking lot near Chapman Avenue and Main Street. A police officer received a notification from a license plate reader of a stolen 2020 Nissan Altima. The suspect entered the unoccupied car and fled immediately after spotting a police vehicle.
 
As the driver took off, she struck a parked car and the police vehicle before driving on the wrong side of the road. Subsequently, as she negotiated a wide turn to hop onto the 57 South Freeway, she lost control and broadsided another driver.
 
That driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The suspect in the stolen vehicle, later identified as Deyanira Ignacia Carrasco, hid in some bushes until her arrest.
