Derrick Flanders Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Pacific Avenue and Broadway
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 29, 2022) — Derrick Deon Flanders died in a pedestrian accident near Pacific Avenue and Broadway on Saturday morning.
According to Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Steinle, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 5:40 a.m. While a Huntington Beach police officer responded to a radio call in a Ford Explorer, an accident occurred.
The officer struck 45-year-old Flanders of Rancho Palos Verdes near Sunset Beach.
Soon after, paramedics responded and brought him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Currently, the officer has only been identified as 22-year-old Robert M.
