Hit-and-Run Suspect of South LA Crash Leaves 38-Year-Old Pedestrian in Critical Condition

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 16, 2023) – Daniel Pineda Jr. was left in coma after a hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles early Wednesday morning on October 11.
 
The crash happened around 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Flower Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 38-year-old victim was crossing Flower Street when a black Mercedes-Benz sedan that was traveling south on Flower struck him.
 
After striking him, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Pineda to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition and remains in a coma.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
The city of Los Angeles has a standing $25,000 reward offer for information leading to perpetrators of this case.
