Bicyclist Dac Kieu Dies after Crash with Pickup Truck in Fountain Valley

 
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (July 6, 2022) – Dac Them Kieu was killed in a bicycle accident in Fountain Valley on Tuesday morning, July 5.
 
The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Garfield Avenue near Brookhurst Street. According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, the 73-year-old man was riding a bicycle when he collided with a Ford F-350 pickup truck which made a left turn from eastbound Garfield to northbound Brookhurst.
 
First responders rushed Kieu to a hospital in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Kieu did not survive and was declared dead.
 
The pickup truck driver, a 65-year-old Huntington Beach man, remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
