Two-Vehicle Accident in Banning, Police Identify James Darnell and Christopher Saldana

 
BANNING, CA (July 30, 2022) – Christopher Saldana and James Darnell died in a two-vehicle accident in Banning Friday evening on July 29.
 
The accident happened around 8:35 p.m. near the Ramsey Street on-ramp to 10 Freeway and the Banning Municipal Airport. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, two vehicles collided in the area for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found the victims trapped in the wreckage. Fire crews used hydraulic tools to extricate them.
 
Unfortunately, 24-year-old Saldana and 75-year-old Darnell died at the scene. Both were residents of Banning, according to police.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two other people to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
Further information was unavailable and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
