DUI Driver Crashes into Another Car in Hollywood Killing One Passenger

 
HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 30, 2022) – Demond Sardin was killed in a DUI accident in Hollywood early Saturday morning on July 30.
 
The accident happened around 1:54 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard and Gower Street, just near Hollywood Forever Cemetery. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a car was turning left from Santa Monica onto Gower when it crossed in front of the other vehicle. The second vehicle then broadsided the first car.
 
Sardin was a passenger in the turning car. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 26 years old.
 
The driver of the second vehicle remained on scene and was detained.
 
Police said alcohol and drugs played a factor, though it is not yet known if speed contributed as well. Further investigation is underway.
