19-Year-Old Vallejo Man Dies after Struck by Car in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (August 26, 2023) – Christopher Perez Jr. was hit and killed by a car in Sonoma County late Saturday evening on August 19.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:23 p.m. on Highway 101, just north of Todd Road. According to the CHP, Perez was walking west across the highway from a gas station parking lot when an approaching northbound Chevrolet Camaro struck him.
 
Perez Jr. suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 19 years old from Vallejo, according to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.
 
The Camaro driver, who had attempted to avoid the crossing pedestrian, pulled over and cooperated with authorities. He had the right of way, officers said.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
