Authorities Identify Woman Killed after Struck by Two Vehicles in Thousand Palms, One Driver Flees the Scene

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (November 29, 2021) – Christina Humphrey died in a hit-and-run crash in Thousand Palms, late Thursday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:26 p.m. on November 25 at Ramon Road and Varner Road, just north of 10 Freeway. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a black Kia Rio and a silver SUV struck the victim at the intersection.
 
The driver of the Kia Rio stopped, but the driver of the SUV continued southbound on Varner Road.
 
Humphrey, a 47-year-old Thousand Palms resident, died at the scene.
 
As of Thursday night, CHP was working to determine whether the second car crashed into the first car, which caused them to strike the pedestrian or if they also hit the pedestrian.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
