Suspected DUI Driver Hits CHP Officer on McKinley Avenuein Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (June 8, 2023) – A CHP officer was taken to the hospital after a DUI crash at McKinley Avenue and Fresno Street on Monday evening.
 
The crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on June 5. According to the Fresno Police Department, they were following a stolen vehicle and the CHP officer was assisting in that investigation.
 
As the CHP officer went through the intersection, a driver hit the back of the patrol car, causing it to spin and crash into the street pole.
 
The CHP officer complained of pain after the crash. Paramedics took him to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
 
Fresno officers discovered the involved driver, who was unharmed, had a suspended license and was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
An investigation is underway.
