Children Among Hospitalized in 2-Car Crash at Main Street in Chico

 
CHICO, CA (July 10, 2023) — Children were among those injured in a 2-car accident at Main Street and 6th Street.
 
According to the Chico Police Department, the two-vehicle crash happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a westbound Acura sedan blew through a red traffic light. Subsequently, a northbound minivan collided with the Acura, pushing it into Jack’s Family Restaurant.
 
As a result of the crash, two children in the minivan and a child in the Acura suffered minor injuries, prompting paramedics to take them to a hospital. An adult in the Acura also required hospitalization.
 
As for the restaurant, it sustained moderate damage, and the structural engineer is currently assessing the building.
 
During the investigation, police learned that all involved parties were wearing their seatbelts, which might have lessened the severity of their injuries.
