At Least 1 Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 58 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 10, 2023) — One person suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 58 at Highway 223.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol website, the multi-vehicle accident happened Thursday night. Around 9:45 p.m., a white pickup truck and a second car collided.
 
Minutes later, officers responded to the scene to find one person lying on the road. Police soon learned that one of the drivers reportedly left the scene of the crash.
 
Due to the collision, drivers faced closure on the eastbound lanes just before 10:00 p.m.
