Simi Valley Man Dies after Colliding Head-On with Box Truck on Highway 118 in Somis

 
SOMIS, CA (January 31, 2022) – Brian Mull was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 118 in Somis, Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 6:26 a.m. on January 28 just east of Price Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Mull was driving a GMC Yukon SUV westbound on the highway when he collided head-on with an eastbound Kenworth box truck, driven by a 48-year-old Los Angeles man.
 
The box truck rolled over on its side, while the Yukon ended up on the north shoulder.
 
A third vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was heading westbound. The driver, a 31-year-old Los Angeles man, swerved to avoid the crash in front of him, but he ended up in a ditch along the south side of the road.
 
Mull suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 52-year-old Simi Valley resident, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
The drivers of the box truck and the pickup truck were taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
