32-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Rio Linda

 
RIO LINDA, CA (September 18, 2023) – Brian Jacob Mcintyre was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Rio Linda Thursday evening on September 14.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard near 6th Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Mcintyre was on the way to a store to get something to eat when a car struck him.
 
After striking him, the driver of the car did not stop.
 
Another car swerved to avoid the body in the road, but crashed in the front yard of a home in the area. The driver was ejected from the car and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
 
Responding Metro Fire of Sacramento crews pronounced Mcintyre dead at the scene. He was 32 years old.
 
CHP is still looking for the initial hit-and-run suspect, who is believed to have been driving a silver Pontiac.

No arrests have been made at this time. Further investigation is underway.
