Brett Cico Unharmed in Deadly Big Rig Crash on Highway 140 at 5 Freeway

 
GUSTINE, CA (February 2, 2022) — Brett Cico was involved in a fatal big rig accident on Highway 140 at the 5 Freeway off-ramp on Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 2:14 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 68-year-old man driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata entered the eastbound lane after making a stop at the intersection with the 5 Freeway off-ramp.
 
As a result, an oncoming 2020 Peterbilt traveling eastbound on the highway struck the left side of the Hyundai, which veered into its trajectory of travel.
 
Shortly after, officers and paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the Hyundai driver and his 66-year-old female passenger deceased. Authorities have not released their names but only described them as Las Vegas residents.
 
As for 40-year-old Cico, the Delhi man driving the Peterbilt, he escaped injury.
 
At this time, the ultimate cause of the accident requires further investigation. However, officers have ruled out DUI as a possible cause of the accident. Anyone who has additional information should reach out to the CHP.
