47-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Minivan in Lompoc

 
LOMPOC, CA (October 26, 2023) – Bradley Blackwell died after being hit by a vehicle in Lompoc earlier this month on October 7.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Highway 246 near Sweeney Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Blackwell was walking southbound along the highway when he crossed into the path of a Toyota Sienna.
 
The minivan then struck Blackwell, throwing him over the guardrail.
 
Blackwell was airlifted to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on October 20. He was a 47-year-old Lompoc resident.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
