Minivan Struck after Big Rig Accident on 805 Freeway in National City

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (January 25. 2021) – A big rig accident on 805 Freeway caused lane closures near Highway 54, Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:50 a.m. A big rig reportedly hydroplaned and hit the center divider. Then, it collided with a minivan on northbound 805 Freeway near Plaza Boulevard.
 
The big rig ended up jackknifed, with the trailer blocking the right two lanes on the highway.
 
Officers issued a SigAlert, which temporarily closed three lanes until 9:30 a.m. A hazmat crew responded to clean up a fuel spill.
 
As per reports, no one was injured in the accident. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
