Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident at South 1st Street and Reed Street

 
SAN JOSE, CA (February 2, 2021) – A bicyclist died in a hit-and-run accident at 1st Street and Reed Street early Sunday morning.
 
According to the CHP, this hit-and-run accident happened around 4:30 a.m. Police said a dark Chevrolet Silverado was traveling the wrong-way when it struck the bicyclist. However, the driver did not stop after the crash.
 
Rescuers provided life-saving measures, but the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin.
 
The truck had a cover over its bed and should have front-end damage, police added. At this time, police are still investigating this hit-and-run accident and on the lookout for the suspect.
