53-Year-Old Man on Bicycle Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (September 3, 2021) – A bicyclist was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Merced late Monday morning.
 
The crash happened around 11:22 p.m. on August 30. According to Merced police, the driver of a white sedan struck the cyclist while turning south onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way from West 15th Street.
 
After the crash, the driver fled the scene and continued driving toward Highway 99.
 
When officers arrived, they found the 53-year-old man lying on the roadway next to his bicycle.
 
Emergency personnel immediately gave aid to the victim, who sustained unspecified injuries.
