OCEANSIDE, CA (March 16, 2023) — A bicyclist hit and killed by a DUI driver left Douglas Drive near El Camino Real closed Tuesday.
 
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the fatal bicycle accident happened around 5:19 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, an impaired driver struck a bicyclist near or on the sidewalk.
 
Following the crash, authorities and paramedics arrived at the scene but pronounced the victim dead. Officials do not have his name yet, but they described him as a man in his 50s.
