Fatal Motorcycle Accident on 5 Freeway [Lebec, CA]

At Least One Killed in Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway near Lebec Service Road

 
LEBEC, CA (October 11, 2022) — At least one person died in a motorcycle accident on 5 Freeway on Sunday, October 9.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway near the Lebec Service Road exit. The crash involved a motorcycle and a semi-truck.
 
CHP said two people on a motorcycle sustained major injuries when their motorcycle crashed into the back of the semi-truck.
 
Medics later pronounced one person dead. Officials have not released the person’s identity.
 
Emergency crews temporarily closed northbound traffic while they transported the injured riders.
 
There are no reports if speed and/or intoxication played a role in the incident.
