At Least 1 Hospitalized in Multi-Car Crash on 10 Freeway in Indio

 
INDIO, CA (October 27, 2023) — At least one person was injured in a multi-car accident on the 10 Freeway near Jefferson Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 5:07 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, several vehicles collided on the westbound freeway near Jefferson Street and the Indio Boulevard off-ramp.
 
As a result, at least one person suffered an unknown injury and officers had to close some of the lanes, which caused a major backup.
 
By 8:17 a.m., authorities reopened the westbound lanes. At the time of the report, CHP did not provide information on the cause. However, an ongoing investigation should reveal more information.
