BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 23, 2023) — At least one person was injured in a 2-car accident on Highway 99 near Wilson Road Tuesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 5:34 a.m. For some reason, a driver of a Toyota pickup truck crashed into a Nissan 350Z. The impact caused the Toyota to roll onto its side in the slow lane of the northbound highway. However, the driver was able to exit the vehicle. As for the Nissan, it came to a stop at the center divider.

Authorities and paramedics responded to the scene soon after and took at least one person to Kern Medical with minor injuries.

Fire crews had to block the third and fourth lanes of the northbound freeways as they cleared the scene.

No other information on this crash was available. However, those with information can call the authorities.

Multi-car accidents happen for a number of reasons, from speeding to making abrupt lane changes. Driving too closely to drivers also increases the risk of an accident. Watch your speed and keep some space between your car and the vehicle in front of you. Staying out of other drivers’ blind spots is also a defensive driving practice to exercise.
