Arturo Pena Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on D Street [Victorville, CA]

Accident Involving 2 Vehicles and Train in Victorville Kills 33-Year-Old Man

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 14, 2023) – Arturo Pena was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Victorville Tuesday last week on May 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 16000 block of north D Street. The collision involved a white Ford SUV and a gray Chevrolet SUV, and a BNSF train.
 
Sheriff’s officials determined Pena was driving a Ford southbound on D Street when he crossed into the opposing lanes of traffic and collided with a gray Chevrolet. The impact caused the Ford to exit the roadway and overturn down an embankment.
 
The Ford then came to rest on train tracks in the path of an oncoming train. The northbound train was unable to stop before colliding with the Ford.
 
Pena, a 33-year-old Barstow resident, died at the scene, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
 
Two of the occupants of the Chevrolet complained of pain.
 
Six juveniles and two adults were in the Chevrolet at the time of the crash.
