Riverside County Deputy Dies after Crash with Car while Riding Off-Duty Motorcyle

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 26, 2023)Andrew Davidson was killed in an off-duty motorcycle accident in Riverside Monday morning on April 24.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:39 a.m. on Van Buren Boulevard at Garfield Street. Davidson was riding his motorcycle while off-duty when he collided with a Toyota Camry at the intersection.
 
Davidson was ejected and the motorcycle burst into flames. Bystanders were able to quickly put out the fire.
 
First responders rushed Davidson to a local hospital in critical condition. He died shortly after.
 
The driver of the Camry, a 66-year-old Riverside man, was taken to another local hospital with a complaint of pain.
 
Davidson was a 23-year-old deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. He had been a deputy since March 2022 and had been assigned to the Perris Station.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
