Allen Avalos Dead, Robert Ochoa Hurt in Semi-Truck Crash on 9th Avenue at Driver Road

 
DELANO, CA (November 18, 2022) — Allen Avalos died in a vehicle and big rig accident on 9th Avenue at Driver Road Thursday morning.
 
According to the Kern County coroner’s office, 20-year-old Allen Jesus Valdez Avalos was the driver killed in Thursday morning’s crash.
 
The fatal two-vehicle collision happened around 5:00 a.m. Thursday. For unknown reasons, Avalos, of Delano, reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign on 9th Avenue while traveling eastbound. As a result, his pickup truck slammed into the side of a southbound semi-truck, driven by 25-year-old Robert Ochoa.
 
Because of the nature of the crash, Avalos, who officials said was not wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Ochoa suffered minor injuries in the accident, prompting paramedics to take him to Adventist Health Hospital in Delano.
