Alfonso Rios Killed, Child Injured after Hit by Car on Crawford Avenue [Dinuba, CA]

72-Year-Old Man Dies after Hit by Car while Walking with His Granddaughter near Dinuba School

 
DINUBA, CA (September 26, 2023) – Alfonso Rios died and a child was injured after they were hit by a car in Dinuba Friday afternoon on September 22.
 
The fatal crash happened around noon on Crawford Avenue at Terrace Drive, just down the street from Jefferson Elementary School. According to Dinuba police, Rios was walking home with his granddaughter he had just picked up from the school when they were both hit.
 
The impact caused Rios fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was 72 years old.
 
The girl was taken to a local hospital with fractures in her wrist, pelvis and spine.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Officials said drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
