Authorities Arrest Hit-and-Run Suspect Alan Ladd after Hitting Pedestrian at Buhne and L Streets

 
EUREKA, CA (May 3, 2021) – Alan Lee Ladd was arrested after a pedestrian hit-and-run crash Thursday afternoon in Eureka.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on April 29 at Buhne Street and L Street. According to the Eureka Police Department, the 58-year-old Eureka man was driving a white truck when he hit a female pedestrian.
 
When officials arrived at the scene, they located the pedestrian suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took the victim to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, Ladd fled the scene but police were able to locate him in an alleyway within a block of the crash site.
 
Police arrested Ladd and booked him into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of hit-and-run, driving while unlicensed, no insurance and expired registration. His bail was set at $35,000.00.
 
The crash is under investigation.
