12-Year-Old Boy Dies after Struck by Car in Adelanto

 
ADELANTO, CA (September 27, 2023) – Aiden Ortiz was hit and killed by a car in Adelanto Monday morning on September 25.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:10 a.m. on Seneca Road, just between Jonathan Street and Delicious Street. According to witnesses, Ortiz was crossing the street when he stepped into the path of the vehicle and was struck. He died at the scene.
 
Ortiz was 12 years old and a 6th-grade student at Melva Davis Academy of Excellence.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The Victorville Ribbons Little League started a Gofundme to help Aiden’s family.
 
The Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station is handling the investigation.
