Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car near Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward

 
HAYWARD, CA (February 12, 2024) — A 91-year-old pedestrian hit by a driver near Hesperian Boulevard and Bartlett Avenue died from his injuries Thursday morning.
 
According to Hayward Police, the deadly accident happened around 7:46 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 61-year-old man struck the 91-year-old pedestrian at the intersection.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and took the gravely injured pedestrian to a hospital where he passed away. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has yet to release his name.
 
Following the accident, traffic investigators did not confirm the cause of the accident but ruled out impairment as a possible source. Those with information can call the Traffic Bureau at 510-293-7066.
