Head-On Accident on Avenue 7 1/2 in Madera County Kills 1 Driver

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (March 29, 2022) – An 89-year-old man was killed in a head-on accident on Avenue 7 1/2 in Madera County on Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened a little after 7:00 p.m. on March 27 just west of Firebaugh Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was driving west on Avenue 7 1/2 when his truck drifted into the opposite lane.
 
A woman in an oncoming Toyota Venza swerved to avoid the truck, and her vehicle spun off the road. That was when the man’s truck collided head-on with a Toyota Sequoia heading east.
 
As a result of the crash, the elderly man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The man in the Toyota Sequoia suffered minor injuries. Paramedidcs took him to Madera hospital for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the woman in the Toyota Venza was unharmed.
 
CHP officers are still investigating the crash. They said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors.
