81-Year-Old James Vaughn Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Herndon Avenue and Helm Avenue

 
CLOVIS, CA (April 1, 2024) — James Vaughn died in a 3-car accident on Herndon Avenue and Helm Avenue.
 
According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, the fatal multi-car crash happened around 2:14 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, 81-year-old Vaughn lost control of his eastbound car, which crossed over the center median into the path of two oncoming vehicles. Subsequently, the three cars collided.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded but Vaughn passed away from his injuries. In addition, one other person required hospitalization, and two in the third car reported no injuries.
 
At the time of the report, Clovis officers did not identify the major cause of the collision. However, they will look into the details further.
