Elderly Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga

 
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (June 27, 2023) – An 80-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga Saturday afternoon on June 24.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:11 p.m. at the intersection with Tryon Street. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the elderly woman was walking in the area when a vehicle struck her.
 
Responding firefighters rendered aid to the woman and took her to Pomona Valley Medical Center.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, the woman was declared dead at 6:30 p.m.
 
The driver of the vehicle, a 70-year-old man, stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash, officials said. Further investigation is underway.
