UPDATE: 8-Year-Old Bradley Rofer Dies after Bicycle Accident on Coto de Caza Drive [Orange County, CA]

ORANGE COUNTY, CA (September 7, 2022) – An 8-year-old boy died days after he was struck by a pickup truck on Coto de Caza Drive on Thursday, September 1.
 
Family and friends identified the young victim as Bradley Rofer.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:25 a.m. in the area of Oso Parkway and Coto de Caza Drive. An eastbound 1999 white Ford F-150 reportedly attempted to turn left onto northbound Coto de Caza Drive.
 
Then, the truck struck Bradley as he made his way across a crosswalk with his bike.
 
Bradley was wearing a helmet and sustained major injuries. Officials transported him to Mission Hospital.
 
However, Bradley was taken off life support Saturday afternoon. According to a GoFundMe, Bradley had a beautiful smile and was always thinking of others.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
