Child Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Car while Walking to School at Ellis and Owens Streets

 
MADERA, CA (September 25, 2023) – An 8-year-old boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident at Ellis Street and Owens Street in Madera on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. on September 19. According to the California Highway Patrol, the child was walking to school with his brother when he was hit by a Honda.
 
The boy suffered major injuries and was taken to Valley Children’s Hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The boy’s older brother was not hurt.
 
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old male driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. He told officers that he did not see the boys and ended up hitting the child.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
