76-Year-Old Rider Run Over, Dies in Motorcycle Crash on 15 Freeway in Temecula

 
TEMECULA, CA (July 17, 2023) — A 76-year-old man was run over and killed in a motorcycle accident on the 15 Freeway near Winchester Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcycle crash happened around 6:00 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, the 76-year-old man laid his Harley-Davidson down, causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle. Subsequently, he was run over by the rear wheel of a big rig trailer when he landed in the No. 3 lane.
 
Soon after, Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived but he died at the scene. The semi-truck driver did not realize his trailer had run over the man, and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.
 
Due to the accident, police closed the northbound 15 Freeway lanes for two hours to investigate. According to authorities, the victim was splitting lanes, moving about 15 miles per hour, during heavy commuter traffic. As he tried to pass between two semi-trucks, the accident occurred.
