76-Year-Old Judith Girimonte Killed in Chico Pedestrian Accident on Bruce Road near California Park Drive

 
CHICO, CA (October 6, 2022) — Judith Girimonte died in a pedestrian accident on Bruce Road near California Park Drive on Wednesday.
 
According to the Chico Police Department, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 8:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, 76-year-old Girimonte began crossing Bruce Road against a red traffic signal. Subsequently, a northbound driver who had a green light struck her.
 
Soon after, crews responded to find the Chico woman on the ground with major injuries. The driver who struck her stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
 
Responding paramedics tried to render life-saving efforts to Girimonte. However, she died at the scene.
