1 Person Dead, Logging Truck and Car Collide on Highway 89 in Shasta County

 
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (October 6, 2022) — One person died after a logging truck and a car crashed on Highway 89 near Highway 44.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision happened around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a logging truck crashed into a vehicle four miles north of Old Station.
 
Due to the impact, the truck caught on fire, but an unknown party or parties quickly extinguished it.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived at the scene, confirming one fatality. The person’s name and residence are unavailable.
