Elderly Woman Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on Northside Drive near Friars Road

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 19, 2021) — An elderly woman suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Northside Drive on Wednesday, April 14.
 
According to San Diego police, the incident occurred just before 2:15 p.m. near Lowe’s store on Northside Drive, south of Friars Road.
 
Police said that the 71-year-old woman walked near the front entrance of the store. Then a motorist driving a gold 2003-model four-door Honda Accord with California license plate 4ZNN918 struck her. The motorist left the area without checking on the pedestrian.
 
A witness tried to follow the suspect but lost sight of the Honda in the North Park area. Officials said the car had moderate front-end damage. It might also have some damage to the right side of the windshield.
 
The victim sustained multiple head lacerations and a fractured right femur. Medics rushed her to the hospital in serious condition and she remained there until Friday morning.
 
Officials urge anyone with information on the identity or location of the hit-and-run driver to call them at 858-573-5002.
