7 Hospitalized after Chain-Reaction DUI Accident on Willow Avenue near Olive Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 3, 2024) – Seven people sustained injuries in a DUI accident on Willow Avenue, Friday afternoon.
 
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened on December 29, at about 4:00 p.m. A car was reportedly speeding and ran a red light at the intersection. The car then collided with another vehicle, causing a chain-reaction collision.
 
As per reports, at least four vehicles became involved in the collision.
 
Emergency crews transported seven people to the hospital. Five people suffered serious injuries, but they are all expected to recover.
 
Investigators believe that alcohol played a role in the accident. Authorities said that the driver will be booked into the Fresno County Jail once he is released from the hospital.
