7 Hurt in Robbery, Car Accident at Harris Street in Eureka

 
EUREKA, CA (April 20, 2023) — Seven people suffered injuries following a crime spree and car crash at Harris Street and Dolbeer Street Tuesday.
 
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, the incident started around 3:00 p.m. at the Bayshore Mall. The sheriff’s department learned about a group of suspects involved in an armed robbery and an assault. Officers said one person suffered an injury during that incident.
 
The suspects fled the scene and a police pursuit unfolded. However, the chase ended at Harris Street and Dolbeer Street when the suspects in the red truck crashed into a civilian car.
 
In the wake of the crash, seven people, including the two suspects with gun-shot-related injuries from an officer-related shooting, suffered injuries. Paramedics airlifted a man in the civilian car to an out-of-area hospital. A woman in the same car suffered serious injuries and two juveniles did, as well.
 
Family members of those injured created a GoFundMepage to raise some help with their care.
 
During the investigation, police brought a K-9 unit to help with the search for a potential third suspect. However, the person located shortly thereafter was determined not to be involved in the incident.
