68-Year-Old Juventino Abarca Hurt, Edwin Morales Involved in Pedestrian Crash on Dutton Avenue at Sebastopol Road

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (July 23, 2021) — Juventino Abarca was injured in a pedestrian accident on Dutton Avenue at Sebastopol Road Tuesday morning.
 
According to Santa Rosa Police, the pedestrian crash happened around 6:30 a.m. For reasons that still require an investigation, a driver in a GMC heading east on Sebastopol Road struck 68-year-old Abarca as soon as the walk signal flashed. Subsequently, the GMC truck dragged Abarca, as well as his motorized chair, for nearly 60 feet.
 
As a result of the crash, Abarca sustained serious injuries. Following the incident, police interviewed 29-year-old Edwin Valle Morales and ruled out DUI as an explanation for the accident.
