BALBOA PARK, CA (March 15, 2024) — A woman died in a head-on accident on Florida Drive near Morley Field Drive.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a 32-year-old man in a northbound 2014 Toyota Sienna crossed the center line. Subsequently, his northbound minivan struck a southbound 2009 Subaru Forester head-on.
 
Shortly after, San Diego Police and paramedics responded to find both vehicles and the 67-year-old woman operating the Subaru with severe injuries. Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released her identity.
 
Following the collision, San Diego Police ruled out alcohol as a possible explanation for the accident. However, the traffic division will pinpoint the exact cause.
