65-Year-Old Lamar Maxwell Dies, Cher Srey Booked in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Ohio Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 8, 2024) Lamar Maxwell died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Ohio Avenue.
 
According to Long Beach police officers, the hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened around 5:25 a.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, 55-year-old Cher Srey struck 65-year-old Lamar Maxwell from behind on PCH. Following the impact, Srey, of Long Beach, left the scene without rendering aid.
 
Tragically, Maxwell, a homeless man, passed away from his injuries. Authorities would later learn that he was walking eastbound when the accident occurred.
 
However, hours later, Srey turned herself in at the Signal Hill Police Department, where she was booked on felony hit-and-run before being released.
